| Those residents must be fairly influential - there are only half a dozen houses along there. Nice to see some representation for all from this councillor - not! |

What an utterly moronic comment. Even if it is not strictly illegal to use Pale Lane to access the motorway it is certainly not the reason that the access exists. If you think that councillors should represent the likes of you and your pathetic little traffic dodge rather than the legitimate concerns of council tax payers then I suggest you are mistaken. |

R.I.P FLEET CHEAT :(
An emotional farewell to the "Fleet Cheat," sadly taken from us with the installation of ANPR camera's earlier last month....... It did however fight a long hard battle.
Fleet Cheat, you have been so good to me/us over the years, that time you saved me from being late at the board meeting in Peterborough due over sleeping after drinking way too much San Miguel (following the dismal England V Germany performance), that time you got me home on time when the M3 was tail-backed all the way to J3 so that I could join my friends for the pub quiz at the De Hav, and how can I forget that time I told my fiancée "I was working late" (and was really playing cricket with my office co-workers) and you let me through those heavenly gates to save me those vital minutes I so desperatley needed.
Hopefully we can all draw strength from eachother during this sad period, and we'll all have to leave ten minutes earlier to get to work on time. We should all feel comforted however, because when you are stuck on what was the "Sunn Microsystems roundabout" (because those stupid traffic lights on the slip road are in full swing) you will be surrounded (because you are stationary and going no-where for ages) by your fellow ex-Fleet-Cheaters who will also be sat there in the knowledge that there was once a better way.
Candle-lit ceremony to follow, in the meantime, perhaps some of you Fleet cheaters would like to share some of your memories with the rest of us by leaving a short story here.........

Nowhere near. Too noisy for me that close to the motorway. |

I don't know what all the fuss is about? Authorised/Unauthorised. If the service station really wanted to stop unauthorised use, they could put in an automatic barrier with some sort of electronic device which recognises emergency services vehicles, as they are (even unmarked vehicles) fitted with a tracking device. Instead of the service stations owners complaining, why don't they work with the emergency services to resolve the issue????? |

I thought they did have a barrier, and it was broken?
Monaco: are they prosecuting? |

| So what's going on - we know the cameras are in place and 'unauthorised users' are still using the access points, probably those who don't see this Forum. Are the cameras being used for the purpose we suspected or is this all an elaborate hoax? |

| Used to go thru every day but not since the cameras appeared - if they're in use, each entrance/exit becomes a transgression ! Took a stroll up to services to get a paper Wed AM and saw maybe 6 cars using the southbound access by Ravenscroft. There are ANPR warning signs on the slip roads but they relate to '2 Hours Free PARKING - Warning - Automatic Number Plate Recognition In Operation' Not quite sure how the cameras could be used against us, but sitting on the fence in the meantime! |

The cameras are supposed to work by logging you in and out of the services. If you go into the services and don't come back out within 2 hours, then you will be issued a ticket. So if you are using it as a cut through to the motorway and won't be coming back within 2 hours it is likely that you will be ticketed. |
